This year's Spring Trip will be to Dallas from May 22 - May 25. The final $75 deposit is due by Friday, May 16th - at that time your account balance should be at least $475.00. If you have a special circumstance that will delay the trip payment, please contact Mr. Grice at griced@pearlandisd.org. Because the tour operator requires that the boosters make partial payments on the total trip amount at varying times, please maintain the required balance as indicated by the payment schedule [HERE]. |

SMART MUSIC – THANK YOU PEARLAND HIGH SCHOOL PTA!!! The band was recently awarded a grant from the PTA to order Smart Music. Smart Music is a computer-based practice system that helps students practice through several aspects of music. Many solos are listed on Smart Music so that students can practice their contest solos with the piano accompaniment. Students can adjust the tempo, do a practice loop for difficult measures, and be more prepared for their rehearsals with their piano accompanist. |

The PHS Band BANQUET TICKETS Are NOW ON SALE in the PHS South Band Hall beginning Tuesday (May 6th) thru Monday (May12th) for $11.00 per ticket. Tickets are to be purchased from Mrs. Rogers either in class or immediately after school. You may pay in cash, by check, or from your band/color guard account. This year’s Band Banquet theme is “Hollywood Night Starring The Pride of Pearland Band”. Everyone is welcome to attend; so, please purchase your tickets!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Band Banquet Committee is in need of volunteers to: 1) help decorate & prepare banquet fruit on Friday, May 16th beginning at 10:00am, 2) serve drinks/dessert during the banquet and/or 3) help clean-up after the banquet. Well,
the Toyota center fundraiser failed to get enough volunteers to
participate - so we are going to try something that doesn't require any
heavy lifting. If you are one of those people who enjoy internet
shopping, then you know that Amazon.com provides some real bargains and
you don't have to pay any sales tax. Sometimes you even get free
shipping. With that in mind - we've joined with Amazon.com as an
associate. Amazon will rebate to the boosters about 4% of all sales
generated by people who click on the Amazon.com link in this website.
Just click on the Amazon search box or daily deal box at the left of this
page, and when you buy from Amazon - the band will receive credit for your
purchase. About once a month or so - we'll publish an accounting of what
the band receives as a result of this fundraiser.

Sophomore Kyle Curtis is a TeeVee star - Kyle is appearing on the Discovery Kids Channel show "Endurance" premiering on October 13th. The show was filmed in Fiji this summer. Click on Kyles' photo for a link to the show.
On October 6th, Pearland hosted the Bands of America Houston Regional competition at the rig. Bands of America interviewed PISD Superintendant Dr. Bonnie Cain and PISD Board Member Leticia Farnie. Click [HERE] to listen.
