PERCUSSION

The Pearland Percussion Program is under the direction of Mr. Clay Jasper and comprised of 35-40 students. The Percussion section has consistently won numerous best in class percussion, overall percussion and best drum-line awards during the competitive marching band season.

Percussionists at Pearland High School consistently place in Region and Area bands as well as receiving Superior ratings at UIL Solo and Ensemble competitions.

In 2016, the percussion program was the Gold Medalist and State Champion for Texas Colorguard Circuit Championships as well as a consistent WGI finals participant.

The percussion program is a competitive and enriching part of the Pride of Pearland Band program that runs year round. All members perform in every aspect of the Pearland Band Program from marching to concert band activities throughout the Fall and Spring.

Pearland Percussionists have gone on to march in WGI and DCI programs as well as scholarships to pursue music in college.
