Each year, the Pearland Band program participates in a concert competition outside the Houston area.  This school year (2007-2008), the band will be traveling to Dallas from May 22 through May 25, 2008.   This year’s trip includes transportation to and from Dallas, all transfers while in Dallas, three nights accommodations, all meals, and admission to attractions.  The Trip cost is $475.00 for the full trip and $125.00 for the day trip.

In order for the band program to meet their financial obligations,  it is necessary to collect a non refundable deposit of $100 to cover the cost of the air fare.   Your first payment of $100 is due by January 31, 2008.  Should you decide to withdraw from the trip at a later date the $100 cannot be refunded - your signature on the slip is an acknowledgement of the non-refundable deposit requirement. In order for us to meet our obligations to the various vendors (airline, charter bus, hotel) we are required to make partial payments to cover the cost of the trip.  It is therefore necessary that we set a payment schedule for the trip as reflected below

Once the final payment for the full trip has been received, you will be able to sign up for a “room assignment.” This is the rooming list that the band will have at the hotel for the entire trip! The sooner your full trip is paid for, the sooner you can sign up for a room

Payments for the Spring Trip may be made by personnel check, Pay me securely with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express card through PayPal!  , or cash.  They may be deposited in the black box at the PHS South Band Hall. When making a payment, please fill out the envelope available at both band halls designating the purpose of the payment and the name of the student.  The payment will be reflected on the student account which is viewable by clicking on the members button on the menu above.  Checks should be in favor of "Pearland High School Band".

All fund raising money and individual deposits for the Spring Trip are held in a Checking Account managed by the boosters.  The individual account records are merely a bookeeping entry reflecting the portion of the Checking Account which represents money raised or deposited by the student.    The payment schedule below reflects the amount that each student should have in their account in order for the boosters to meet the partial payment requirements of the various vendors who are providing services for the trip. We request that you maintain the student balance as reflected in the above "Payment Schedule".

Actual deductions for the Spring Trip are not made until the student goes on the trip.

 

2008 SPRING TRIP ITINERARY

There are two categories of traveller for the 2008 Spring Trip - The Full Trip which departs May 22 and returns on May 25, and the "Day Trip" which actually is an overnighter.

(Tentative) - The "Day Trip" will depart PHS at 4:00 p.m. on May 23 and return at 5:30 p.m. on May 24.  The reason that the "Day Trip" is an overnighter is due to the fact that the bands performance is scheduled early in the morning of May 24.  The scheduling would have required that the "Day Trip" participants leave Pearland in the very early morning hours. (Tentative)

Rule and Pledge Form

Of particular importance is the fact that the pledge form must be signed by the student and parent acknowledging receipt of the handbook and agreement to abide by the rules as set forth in the handbook.  The signed pledge form must be returned to the prior to May 22, 2008
