THIS AUDITION IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS THAT HAVE SIGNED UP AND HAVE PAID TO GO TO THE AUDITION. NOT ALL STUDENTS WILL BE GOING TO THIS AUDITION.
2:15 PM Report to the band hall, get your instrument and supplies and load the Penske Truck with larger instruments.
2:45 Leave PHS
3:15 Arrive Alvin HS, unload instruments - go to cafeteria and sign in
3:30 Judges meeting
3:45 Students must sign in (cafeteria)
4:15 Judging begins
9:30 (approx) All rooms are finished
9:50 (approx) Arrive at PHS
Rehearsal Schedule for Friday, 12/13/2013
Due to the early departure time on Saturday, we will have rehearsal on Friday, December 13, 2013. The rehearsal will run 2:45 PM -- 3:45 PM.
Possible Rehearsal Schedule for the Week of December 16th
In the event that the football team wins this week, we will have rehearsal to prepare for the State Football Championship game. We will rehearse on Wednesday December 18th and Thursday December 19th from 3:15-5:15. As you are preparing for the holiday, please find your Santa Hat.
TEXAS 5A STATE FOOTBALL SEMIFINALS GAME
6:45 AM Report to band hall and place instrument by the instrument carts -- wear Performance Shirt, Marching Shoes, Long Black Socks
7:00 AM Report to Uniform Inspection Area- Full uniform should be in the garment bag.
7:30 AM Load buses, uniforms in garment bags, hat and hat box will be loaded on the bus. Flutes and Clarinets will be loaded on bus in the overhead compartment. Saxophones and Trumpets will place instrument outside the luggage compartment to be loaded. A Chick-fil-a breakfast will be provided for you to eat on the bus. Students should bring blankets, small pillows, and sweatshirts/clothing to wear over their shorts and show shirts so they may be comfortable. Students may bring movies to play on the bus. Nothing stronger than PG 13 and all movies are subject to the approval of the chaperones.
8:00 AM Depart for Waco
12:00 AM Arrive at Golden Corral for lunch. We will dismiss students by Bus to eat lunch. Students will load buses after finishing lunch. Buses will be sent to the Waco ISD Stadium as each bus is finished eating. Students should begin to change into uniform as the bus travels to the stadium.
1:50 Last bus departs Golden Corral for Waco ISD Stadium
1:55 Arrive Waco ISD Stadium- Change into uniform, unload instruments: Exit bus wearing full uniform. You will carry your hat, get instruments, move to parade block.
2:10 Parade Block-move into Stadium
3:00 Game begins!
6:00 Game is over. Go back to buses, place instruments outside instrument cart. Flutes and Clarinets will be loaded on bus in the overhead compartment. Saxophones and Trumpets will place instrument outside the luggage compartment to be loaded. Return uniform to hanger and garment bag. Performance shirts and marching band shoes are to remain on. A boxed meal, sandwich and chips will be provided to eat on the way home.
10:30 Arrive at PHS, quickly get instruments from the truck and put away uniform. GO HOME! Please have a plan in place to be picked up.

7:30 am Load Penske truck and buses - roll check
7:45 Leave PHS
8:15 Arrive Alvin HS, unload instruments

9:15 Judging begins
11:30 The Charter bus leaves for San Antonio for students that have completed their audition. You will be given a subway sandwich or something similar to eat on the bus. At this point, use the football game itinerary.
3:00 (approx) all rooms finished
3:30 pm (approx) arrive at PHS
Solo Entry Form is due Monday, De cember 16th
The entry form along with the solo and ensemble letter may be found on Charms. Please turn in the entry form in the forms box in the band office. The fee for playing a solo is $8 and the fee for playing an ensemble at the UIL Contest is $7/player and checks should be made out to PHS band and placed in the black box. The band directors will pick ensembles that the students will be playing. If you are entering an additional ensemble that is not your assigned class period ensemble, you will need to submit an entry form and entry fees. All students will perform in an ensemble at an Ensemble Recital Concert in February (no charge). Students are not required, but encouraged to enter their ensemble at the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest ($7 per player).
Schedule and Concert attire for the PHS Holiday Concert
Tuesday De c. 17th, 2013 in the PHS Auditorium
4:50 PM-- Prep Band meets on stage for warm-up/rehearsal.
5:45 -- Doors to the auditorium open
5:30 -- Cadet Band is seated in the Big Band Hall
5:45 - Concert Band is seated in the Small Band Hall
5:55 -- Symphonic and Wind Ensemble members are in the teaching theater with instruments and music. Please leave your cases in the big band hall. (Mr. Munoz will take Symphonic Band to the Large Band Hall)
6:00 -- Concert begins. Bands will be performing in the order that they are listed above.
Once students have completed their portion of the concert they may quietly enter the band hall to put their instruments away. Another band will be warming up in the band hall so students must do this silently. Students may then leave the campus or go to the auditorium and listen to the remainder of the concert. No students should be in any part of the building other than the auditorium.
Dress for the holiday concert is "Sunday Best" with men wearing dress shoes, dark socks, dress slacks, a shirt and tie. Ladies may wear appropriate fitting pants, or a skirt that falls below the knees. Hosiery must be worn with a skirt. Tops may not be low cut, sleeveless or sheer and shoes must be closed-toed. "Sling-back" shoes that are closed toed are appropriate.
